SY Academy recommends students to prepare for the exam as early as their freshman year in high school. “Scores / grades used by most universities and colleges offering undergraduate programs in the U.S.” - ACT: College/University entrance exam. SY Academy recommends students to prepare for the exam as early as their freshman year in high school. “The ACT test is a curriculum-based education and career planning tool for high school students that assesses the mastery of college readiness standards.” - SAT Subject Tests: Supplemental exam for college/university entrance. SY Academy recommends students to prepare for the exam(s) during the year they are taking the subject area in high school. “SAT Subject Tests are college admission exams on subjects that you choose to best showcase your strengths and interests.” TOEFL/IELTS: English proficiency exam. “The TOEFL test is the most widely respected English-language test in the world, recognized by more than 9,000 colleges, universities and agencies in more than 130 countries, including Australia, Canada, the U.K. and the United States. Wherever you want to study, the TOEFL test can help you get there.” SSAT/ISEE: Private school (middle and high school) entrance exam. “The SSAT is a standardized test used by admission officers to assess the abilities of students seeking to enroll in an independent school. The SSAT measures the basic verbal, math, and reading skills students need for successful performance in independent schools. It's an indispensable tool that gives admission professionals an equitable means to assess and compare applicants, regardless of their background or experience.” “The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE®) is widely accepted, accurate, and provides advanced insights to both schools and students to help guide the admission process.” -SCAT: Qualifying exam for Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Program. “The School and College Ability Test (SCAT), is a standardized test conducted in the United States that measures math and verbal reasoning abilities in gifted children.” We recognize that students need effective standardized test prep courses to get into increasingly competitive programs, colleges, and universities. Furthermore, from our experience, effective learning happens in a small group or 1:1 setting; hence, all our test prep courses are offered in a small group (not to exceed 4 students) or individual (one-on-one) setting.
